SRM PM9 SRAM 8-Bolt MTB Power Meter
The SRM PM9 SRAM 8-Bolt MTB Power Meter is a great way to add power to your SRAM MTB crankset. This spider-based power meter measures power from both legs and the PM9 version now has improved accuracy and features like power balance, automatic temperature compensation and Bluetooth SMART. This power meter is compatible with 8-bolt cranks and fits both boost (52 mm chainline) and standard (49 mm chainline) frames. It’s compatible with 104 BCD 4-bolt round and oval chainrings.
Key Product Details
Compatibility:
This SRM fits SRAM direct mount 8-bolt cranksets. Regarding chainrings, it utilizes a 104×4 bolt pattern, which is different than the direct mount chainrings found on many SRAM MTB cranksets. If you don’t already have a 104×4 BCD chainring, we offer many that you can choose from. See Compatibility tab for more information.
Power Measurement:
This SRM power meter is a spider-based power meter and is therefore able to measure power from both legs.
Key Features:
Dual-leg power measurement, accurate to +/- 1.0%, 100 hours of battery life, rechargeable battery, left/right power balance, ANT+ and Bluetooth compatibility. See Specs tab for more information.
Advice From Our Staff:
SRM makes a top notch, reliable product. SRAM 8-bolt MTB cranksets are a newer standard but becoming increasingly popular. This power meter measures from both legs, is accurate and reliable. Having said that, it competes with our Sigeyi SRAM MTB power meters which are similar power meters, but are bit more affordable. If you’re an SRM fan, you’ll love the updated compatibility and features of this unit. Otherwise, you might give the Sigeyi a try, which is a great unit at a more affordable price.
Options
While not listed as an option above, you can bundle the this power meter with a SRM PC8 Bike Computer. When you do, you get $249 off the standard price of the PC8. Please contact us if you would like this option.
Other Versions to Consider
SRM SRAM MTB 3-Bolt: We also have the SRM SRAM MTB Power Meter which fits SRAM 3-bolt MTB cranksets. Please contact us if you are not sure which version you need.
Compatibility
Crankset: The SRM SRAM 8-Bolt MTB Power Meter fits SRAM direct mount 8-bolt cranksets. This includes the new SRAM Transmission T-Type 8-bolt cranksets. Before purchasing, please confirm that your crankset uses the 8-bolt interface as shown below.
Chainrings: This power meter requires a 104 BCD 4-bolt MTB chainring (which is different than the direct mount chainrings found on many SRAM MTB cranksets). If you don't already have a 4-bolt chainring, we offer many that you can choose from. If you purchase a new chainring, we will bolt it on to your power meter before shipping, which will make installation that much easier when you receive it.
Please note, if you are using this power meter on a SRAM T-Type Transmission drivetrain, we recommend the Wolf Tooth Components 1x 104 BCD MTB Chainring, which is compatible with these drivetrains.
The smallest chainring this power meter will fit is a 30T round or 32T oval chainring.
