SRAM and Quarq power meter spiders are typically paired with DUB crank arms and a SRAM DUB bottom bracket. This is SRAM’s newest interface and is the one we recommend for most frames. However, SRAM doesn’t offer a DUB bottom bracket for Trek BB90 bikes. This is because, due to the larger size of the DUB spindle, a DUB bottom bracket can’t be made to fit a BB90 frame.
However, SRAM also makes RED GXP cranks that work with Quarq power meters and the GXP cranks will also fit Trek BB90 frames (assuming you install a GXP bottom bracket).
SRAM RED GXP
The SRAM RED GXP are SRAM’s top-of-the-line carbon fiber cranks. The cranks feature SRAM’s Hollow Exogram construction resulting in superior stiffness while keeping weight to a minimum.
SRAM Force GXP
The SRAM Force GXP are slightly more budget friendly cranks. Like the REDs, are also feature a carbon fiber construction, but are slightly heavier.
power2max
We would also mention that power2max makes the power2max NGeco ROTOR ALDHU Road Power Meter Crankset, which is a similar, spider-based power meter that comes on a 24 mm spindle. That advantage to this is that you don’t need to make any changes to your bottom bracket as the 24 mm spindle will fit your BB90 bottom bracket. So a lot of customers go this route as it it’s a great power meter and installation is easier. We use p2ms on many of our own bikes and highly recommend them.
