The SRAM Rival E1 AXS Hydraulic Shift-Brake Levers with Calipers, made for flat mount disc brakes, have been updated to provide consistent and powerful braking and at an affordable price. The redesigned lever is made from carbon fiber and allows for true one-finger braking. In addition, the updated hood design now fits a wider range of hands and provides better finger wrap which reduces fatigue on long rides.

Featuring SRAM’s award-winning eTap shift logic, you can also easily customize the shifting sequences of your SRAM Rival E1 brake levers. These brakes also feature Reach Adjust so you can adjust your reach to best fit your hands. The brake caliper has been redesigned to offer additional pad clearance and eliminate rotor rub.

Considerations

These Rival E1 brakes offer impressive value for performance, but are SRAM’s most entry level option. Importantly, this means they do not have the Bonus Buttons that the Force E1 and RED E1 shifters/brakes have.

If your qualm with SRAM was their brakes, these updates have addressed all concerns. These brakes perform very well, especially for their price. We recommend these brakes to riders who are looking for SRAM’s latest brake design, but do not need the additional features like Bonus Buttons.
