LOOK Keo Blade Power Meter Pedals
The LOOK Keo Blade Power Meter Pedals is LOOK’s latest and most advanced power meter. Built on a Keo Blade carbon pedal body, these pedals use a stainless-steel plate and fully integrate all of the electronics and sensors inside the pedal body. This results in a lightweight pedal with similar stack height and Q-Factor dimensions to a standard road pedal. These pedals come with either a 12 nm or 16 nm carbon blade (your choice of blade tension). Both of these blades offer superior retention while being 20% lighter than traditional metal spring mechanisms.
Available in both dual-sided and single-sided versions, the LOOK power meter pedal comes with all the features you would expect in a modern-day power meter. It offers both ANT+ and Bluetooth SMART compatibility and a rechargeable battery with 60 battery life. The pedals are +/- 1.0% accurate and weigh only 130 grams per pedal!
In addition, the LOOK Keo Blade Power Meter Pedals offer active temperature compensation. This keeps power accurate regardless of changes in temperature. LOOK also offers a smartphone app that among other things, allows you to check for proper installation and monitor your firmware.
LOOK Blade Tension Options
LOOK Keo Blade pedals use a carbon blade as a retention mechanism instead of a spring that is found on most other road pedals. This provides a different entry and release feeling than pedals with a spring mechanism. LOOK offers replacement Blades for their power meter pedals so you can adjust the tension of your pedal. Their power meter pedals are offered with 12 or 16 nm Blades, but can also be swapped for 20 nm blades. The higher newton meter blades make it harder to enter and exit the pedal, but also hold your cleat more securely. Swapping Blades is a simple process that only takes a few minutes.

I chose these as I was already using the blade pedals and wanted to continue to use them. I was upgrading from a one sided crank power meter that needed a very large grain of salt while looking through the data. One day I was Superman, the next day I was Deputy Dog. The data was absolute garbage. I put these on the bike and the data was very consistant and totally believable. It connected to the Garmin 1040 Solar computer very easily. The data display options are numerous. My only complaint is there is no live battery indication on the Garmin. I have to use the Look app to check the battery level as these are rechargable, but the work around is acceptable.
