Ok,
I definitely have to admit I bought the Carbon Ti Aero rotors in part because they are flat out, super trick. But beyond their bike bling appeal how do they work?
They are a little heavier then my previous Dura Ace rotors but only by 6 grams each with lockrings.
After the new set of Swiss Stop organic pads broke in, the braking feel is pretty much comparable to my Dura Ace rotors. No real change there.
The difference I have noticed is how much faster the bike rolls down hills now.
About 10% faster according to my speedo. The Shimano rotors must have been kicking up a fair amount of turbulence. Im sure there is also a difference as to overall efficiency in relation to my wattage output, but I didnt have my powermeter set up to my Garmin yet when I made the rotor swap. So no empirical data to support there.
So, the Carbon Ti rotors braking feel are good. Comparable to Shimano Dura Ace.
The Aerodynamics are noticeably better then the Shimanos.
And they are very very trick. Enough so that other riders who do look and notice, did a double take.
Are they worth the price? For me yes! Of course Im bicycle fanatic.
