Can I use the Stages crankset power meter with absoluteBlack oval or round chainrings?

Unfortunately, due to the size and shape of the absoluteBlack chainring, most of them won’t fit on Stages power meter cranksets. While the BCD is the same (Shimano 110 BCD 4-bolt), the problem is with the power sensor that is bonded onto the Stages drive side crank arm. The sensor is located below and to the back of the drive side crank arm and because the absoluteBlack chainring is wider than a normal Shimano chainring, it interferes with the sensor. Specifically, the following aB chainrings will not work:

• absoluteBLACK Premium Oval Sub-Compact Chainrings for Shimano 8000/9100
• absoluteBLACK Premium Round Chainrings for Shimano 8000/9100
• absoluteBLACK Premium Oval PVD Rainbow Road Chainrings for Shimano 8000/9100
