Sigeyi AXO SL Shimano MTB Power Meter
The Sigeyi AXO SL Shimano MTB Power Meter is a spider-based power meter that is compatible with Shimano MTB cranksets. The Sigeyi AXO SL improves upon the previous version AXO by reducing weight and adding pedaling smoothness data. All Sigeyi power meters measure power from both legs and are accurate to +/- 1.0%. Moreover, they easily bolt up to your existing Shimano crankset. This means there is no need to buy new cranks or replace your bottom bracket.
This Sigeyi power meter also features a rechargeable battery with 300 hours of ride time, auto-zero functionality (so your data is always accurate), left and right leg power balance and a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. Of course, you also get Bluetooth Smart. This allows you to use the power meter with your favorite indoor training program or app.

Power Measurement
The Sigeyi AXO SL Shimano MTB Power Meter is a spider-based power meter and is therefore able to measure power from both legs.
Compatibility
This Sigeyi is compatible with Shimano MTB direct mount cranksets using a 1x chainring. This includes the M9200, M9100, MT900-1, M8200, M8100, M7100, M6100 and MT610. Regarding chainrings, it requires a 104 BCD 4-bolt MTB chainring (which is different than the direct mount chainrings found on many Shimano MTB cranksets). If you don’t already have a 104 BCD 4-bolt chainring, we offer several to choose from. See Compatibility tab for more information.
Considerations
Like all spider-based power meters with this functionality, the AXO SL provides estimated power balance data. While this estimation is highly accurate, it’s not true left-right power balance like the data recorded by dual-sided power meter pedals.
Advice From Our Staff
The Sigeyi AXO SL Power Meters are an excellent option for adding power measurement to Shimano MTB cranksets. The new AXO SL is among the lightest power meter spider available and builds on the strong feature set of the original AXO. It measures power from both legs, offering accurate, reliable and affordable performance. Since it bolts directly onto your existing crankset, there’s no need to buy new cranks or change bottom brackets. For those seeking maximum performance in a light package, the AXO SL is a compelling upgrade.
Options
Chainline and BCD: This Sigeyi AXO SL Shimano MTB Power Meter is available in the following versions:
- 1X Boost | 104 BCD
- 1X SuperBoost | 104 BCD
The 1X Boost configuration is recommended if your bike currently has a direct mount chainring with a 3 mm offset (which is what most modern mountain bikes have). These bikes usually feature 52 mm chainlines and 148 mm rear hubs, and are typically referred to as ‘Boost’. Please note this Boost version can also fit ‘SuperBoost’ bikes where you are replacing a 3 mm direct mount chainring.
The 1X SuperBoost configuration is recommended if your bike currently has a direct mount chainring with a 0 mm offset (featured on a growing number of mountain bikes). These bikes usually feature 55 mm chainlines and 157 mm rear hubs, and are typically referred to as ‘SuperBoost’.

First of all, want to thank Power Meter City for correcting my order when I ordered the wrong chainring and for installing the chainring for me. Once I received the power meter, I initially was worried I had ordered the wrong one (super boost vs boost). Given my missteps, would recommend that folks contact PMC to validate that they have put together the correct order for their bike and components. I have a Specialized Epic Evo which has a Boost hub but a 55 mm chain line set up. This boost PM is for a 52mm chain line while I assume the Super Booth PM is for the 55 mm chainline. But once I looked into it further, I realized that I could adjust the chain line on the Epic Evo (it came with a chain guide installed which was set up for 55 mm but otherwise the frame is compatible with both 52 and 55mm) and that it was able to support the narrower 52mm chain line. So would carefully check your frame and components because while you may have a Boost hub, your bike could still be potentially designed for a 55mm chain line.
Once I set up the PM, I calibrated and then put it on my wahoo trainer. The power numbers were lining up between the trainer and the spider at various intensities although I didn’t do an extremely thorough analysis of the raw data. It seemed good enough for me given that external reviewers have stated this PM is fairly accurate and the numbers I get while outside line up with my expectations.

This is my second Sigeyi power meter. Why did I buy another? My other bike is my fun bashing bike- and I wanted an affordable, dead on power meter. I got just that- again. I took off the 8 security bolts- which was a pain, but I was able to do it. It’s super easy to strip them, so bring your patience and don’t rush them. I got the new spider on with my 34t and on my bike it went. I charged it to 100% and paired it easily with my Garmin 840. Super happy with this meter. And of course- even more important- I am happy with power meter city. Great people to deal with.

This is not a long term review since I’ve only had this a couple weeks and done a few rides with it. Overall very happy so far. I was a little skeptical not having ever heard of this company before, but after reading some credible reviews online I decided to try it out. The setup was very simple once I had the proper security torx bit and spider tool to remove the stock spider and then separate it from the chainring. FWIW, the spider tool can be had for less than $10 and I found the right torx security bit at my local Ace for $4. Accuracy was my big concern but after having done some testing of this vs my Assioma Duo pedals as well as on the Saris H3 trainer, both indicated this power meter was well within 1% of the readings from both of those other sources for any interval over 30 seconds (accuracy measurement on intervals less than 30 seconds always shows more variation across all power meters in my experience) so I haven’t even needed to adjust the power scaling on this, but I’m glad I have that option via the app in case it ever becomes necessary. That’s actually quite impressive accuracy in my experience and I’ve had quite a few power meters over the years, most quite a bit pricier than this. Its worth noting that even though this is dual sided measurement, the power balance metric accuracy has its limits because its trying to measure left side power sensing the strain registered on the spider which is on the right side: some calc adjustments are involved there. I think this makes the overall power measurement even more impressive really, but you can very quickly see where the balance calculations fall apart if you try pedaling with just one leg: the result is not 100%/0%. But as long as you’re pedaling with both legs and don’t have a balance skew worse than maybe 65/35 this thing tends to be right on point so from a practicality standpoint there’s really nothing to criticize here. I also like the design of this power meter for MTB purposes because its almost entirely out of harm’s way. And for the price, is there a better value out there? If you want power on your MTB then I would not hesitate to suggest this option. If I had to pick all over again, I’d go right back and buy this same thing.
