XCADEY XPOWER-S GEN2 SRAM MTB Power Meter

The XCADEY XPOWER-S GEN2 SRAM MTB Power Meter is XCADEY’s second generation power meter. It is compatible with SRAM 3-bolt MTB cranksets and Boost chainlines. The power meter is lightweight at only 100 grams and is accurate to +/- 1.0%. In addition, it easily bolts up to your existing SRAM crankset. Therefore, there is no need to buy new cranks or replace your bottom bracket.

The power meter features a rechargeable battery with 150 hours of ride time, left and right leg power balance, active temperature compensation and has a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty. Also, with Bluetooth SMART, you can use it with your favorite indoor training program or app.

Key Product Details

Compatibility:

This XCADEY fits SRAM direct mount 3-bolt cranksets. Regarding chainrings, it requires a 104 BCD 4-bolt MTB chainring. It is compatible with bikes that use Boost spacing and chainrings that use a 3 mm offset. These bikes usually feature a 52 mm chainline and 148 mm rear hubs. See Compatibility tab for more information.

Power Measurement:

The XCADEY power meter measures power at the spider and is therefore able to measure power from both legs.

Key Features:

Dual-leg power measurement, accurate to +/- 1.0%, 150 hours of battery life, rechargeable battery, very lightweight, left/right power balance, active temperature compensation, ANT+ and Bluetooth compatibility.

Advice From Our Staff:

The XCADEY is a great way to add power to SRAM 3-bolt MTB cranksets. Because it uses Boost spacing, it is compatible with most modern mountain bikes and is an affordable upgrade option.

Other Versions to Consider

XCADEY SRAM 8-Bolt: We also have the XCADEY XPOWER-S GEN2 SRAM 8-Bolt MTB Power Meter which fits SRAM 8-bolt MTB cranksets.

Compatibility

Crankset: The XCADEY SRAM MTB Power Meter fits SRAM direct mount 3-bolt cranksets. In order for this power meter to fit, you must ensure your SRAM uses this interface. Please see the image below.

SRAM 3-bolt Interface on MTB crankset

Chainrings: This power meter requires a 104 BCD 4-bolt MTB chainring. If you don't already have a compatible chainring, we have several to choose from.

Please note this power meter is NOT compatible with SRAM X-SYNC 2 Chainrings. The tabs on the X-SYNC 2 are a bit larger than on some other chainrings and they don't fit with the shape of this power meter spider

The smallest 104x4 chainring you can use on a XCADEY MTB power meter is a 30T round or 32T oval.

After chatting with the PowerMeter City rep, we found a compatible powermeter for me which was this XCADEY X-Power meter which mounted on my chainring. I bought a 2018 Giant Anthem Pro 1 29er. I’ve always been a Stages customer, but since they went out of business, it wasn’t a good idea to get Stages at this point. After my LBS installed the meter, I charged it up and went for a ride. I’ve ridden 15 hours so far and I’ve had no lapse in power readings. The app helps as well, but I haven’t really used it much other than updating firmware. My Stages meters would occasionally have reading lapses and was pretty annoying at times. Like I said, I’ve had none so far. It’s nice to not have to replace batteries either. I can just recharge it and it’s good to go. I don’t exactly know the charge life, but I’ve ridding it these 15 hours without charging it and its still at half battery life. It’s a great and reliable power meter

Thank you for sharing your experience, Christopher! We’re glad we could help you find a compatible power meter for your Giant Anthem Pro 1. It’s great to hear that the XCADEY X-Power has been performing reliably for you—no power dropouts and the convenience of recharging make a big difference.

We appreciate your trust in us and are happy to be part of your cycling journey. If you ever need any support or have questions down the road, feel free to reach out. Enjoy the ride!

I am impressed and happy with this power meter. I have used it about for about 20 hours over the course of a few months. I charged it exactly once to full. I paired it to my Wahoo. I haven’t had to do anything beyond the install and initial pairing. (Thanks to the folks at PowerMeter City for mouting the chaingring in advance!) It has always connected to my Wahoo and doesn’t drop out. It seems consistent, i.e., riding the same hills with the same effort, the output numbers seem similar, and when it displays 300 watts it feels like 300 watts. I have it on the MTB to keep a rough track of volume by power not to be ultra precise. It is doing that job very well.
I took off one star because the the three-bolt alignment was, oddly, very, very sligthly off for my Eagle GX cranks, and I stripped the top thread of one hole of the crank. The holes are deep enough that I could use a longer bolt to go past the stripped thread and tighten down the third hole. It seems to have no issue on function like I say above. Keeping the other two bolts very loose before inserting the third bolt might be a better idea but that is a very subtle thing to notice when you expect the bolts to align directly.

Thank you for sharing your detailed review! It’s great to hear that the power meter has been reliable, consistent, and efficient for your MTB setup. It’s also helpful to know that installation and pairing were straightforward, thanks to the pre-installed chainring.

Your feedback about the slight misalignment with the three-bolt setup and the workaround you found is incredibly valuable for others who might encounter a similar issue. It’s unfortunate that this caused a stripped thread, but it’s reassuring that the issue hasn’t affected performance. Your suggestion about loosely securing the other bolts before tightening the third is an excellent tip for future users. Thank you for taking the time to provide such a balanced and insightful review!

We are here if there is anything else we can help you with!
