4iiii PRECISION PRO Shimano R7000 Dual-Sided Crankset
The 4iiii PRECISION PRO Shimano R7000 Dual-Sided Crankset combines 4iiii’s patent pending 3-D tri-axial strain gauge technology with Shimano’s 105 R7000 crank. The result is an accurate, lightweight and highly reliable power meter crankset that is capable of tacking the most grueling workouts or races.
The dual-sided 4iiii R7000 Power Meter Crankset also features independent left/right power measurement. With a power sensor located on the inside of both crank arms, the power meter can measure the forces generated by each leg individually. In fact, this power meter is the most affordable crankset capable of measuring left/right power.
The 4iiii is also extremely lightweight, adding approximately 20 grams to the Shimano R7000 crankset. The power meter is compatible with both ANT+ and Bluetooth SMART devices and is accurate to +/- 1.0%.

Compatibility:
This power meter is compatible with 2×11 road drivetrains and 24 mm Shimano bottom brackets. Most customers that buy it already have a Shimano R7000 crankset on their bike and therefore, it’s an easy swap. Power Measurement:
This 4iiii power meter has a power sensor on both crank arms and measures power from both legs. It is also able to measure your left vs. right leg power.

Left Side R7000: We also sell the 4iiii PRECISION Shimano R7000 Power Meter which is a left side crank arm only. It is more affordable, however it only measures left leg power.
Compatibility
Bottom Bracket: This power meter is compatible with 2x11 road drivetrains and 24 mm Shimano bottom brackets. Most customers that buy it already have a Shimano R7000 crankset on their bike and therefore, it's an easy swap. However, it can be used on any road bike as long as its 2x11 with a 24 mm bottom bracket.
Check Frame Clearance: Crank-arm based power meters like this one attach a sensor on the inside of the left crank arm. On some bikes, there is not enough room between the left crank arm and the chainstay for the sensor to clear the frame. Therefore, you should make sure you have at least 10 mm of clearance between the left crank arm and the chainstay - and that you don't have a bottom bracket mounted rear brake (used on some aero and TT bikes). The important area to measure is right in the middle of the crank arm. Please refer to the image below.
If you find that you have around 7-9 mm of clearance, what many people will do is simply install a 1 or 2 mm bottom bracket spacer (between the left crank arm and the frame), which will give them the clearance they need.

I do recommend having your local bike shop install it. It’s a bit more involved than replacing a tire
Also note that some apps might not work with it, like Strava. Do not pair with your phone’s bluetooth device list either; you have to unpair from everything then pair once with a single app. The 4iiii app works best; as it is interpreted as two devices in other apps. But that’s fine as it exports a FIT file that’s easy to import and use elsewhere.

The installation on the bike was easy. The batteries were already installed so I have no idea how old they are out of the box. The instructions for connecting the sensors was relatively easy to do but could benefit from adding more information as to what is being connected. The dual sided crankset pairs and gives two device indications which I assumed was Left and Right. However I now believe one is for power and one is for Cadence. Since I use a different cadence sensor I didn’t enable on the crankset. After 10 workouts on a Magnet trainer I have found the connectivity to drop at times. I have the crankset paired to a Garmin Edge 1030 Plus and have lost the power reading for both sides at the same time 7 out of the 10 workouts. On all but one of those occasions the sensors reconnected on the own after a short time. On one occasion the power sensors dropped and would not reconnect. The readout froze. Over the course of 30 minute workouts it has dropped connectivity 3 – 5 times during the workout. Other trainers with power sensors I have had connected to this Garmin never dropped connections so I am led to believe the issue is in this crankset. Eventually I will change out the batteries and see if the drops go away. Even though it is a little frustrating losing data for a brief time I am not doing the kind of training that is all that important. If averages get skewed a little I’m okay with it.

Great communication and quick painless delivery. I was a little apprehensive about ordering from California to Ontario Canada so the delivery process was easier and quicker than I expected.
The power meter itself has been very good so far. The iPhone app was a bit finicky in getting both left and right sensor updated to the latest firmware, but was still a quick enough process, and everything has been smooth after that.

As a Canadian, there has to be a good reason to order things internationally. Rest assured, Power Metro City has the goods. First off, the website is a great resource to those considering power meter options. Second, selection was better than anything in Canada. Third, price was pretty comparable and usually better. Bit with the pandemic, sourcing power meters is even harder. So I’m glad Power Meter City came though. It shipped out very fast. Unfortunately, there were delays (outside of the company’s control). But when I reached out for a status update on where the unit was, Power Meter City was responsive (answering the same day!). I now have the unit. It is as advertised. And free shipping made it actually cheaper than if I bought it domestically!

And yes, the unit works great too. Though there are some online rumblings about left-right balance accuracy/reliabilty with Shimano power meters. Works well enough for me. Cheaper than pedals. No complaints here!

So far, so good. Did a power comparison on a ride on the Wahoo Kickr Snap and observed a 3% difference. Easy to calibrate, make sure to have all the firmware updated. If you want the R/L ratio data, make sure to have the R and L paired in the 4iiii app before connecting to Wahoo Element

Despite the item being back ordered they arrived shortly after the order was placed. Installation was easy and so far they have been working without any issues. It is recommended to calibrate them before each ride which only takes a few seconds. Seems like excellent value compared to other brands.
