If you have an indoor spin bike and would like to add a power meter to it, your only option are power meter pedals. We have both road and MTB power meter pedals to choose from. The road pedals use 3-bolt road cleats, whereas the MTB pedals use 2-bolt SPD cleats.
Almost all spin bikes allow you to remove your current pedals and install new ones, and therefore, you should be able to easily attach a set of power meter pedals.
Some customers ask about other power meter types such as crank arms. Unfortunately, power meter crank arms such as 4iiii and Stages will not fit on an indoor bike as they use a different interface.
Please note, these power meter pedals require the use of cycling shoes and cleats (the cleats are included with the power meter).
Have you ever heard of an issue with a power meter pedal like the Favero UNO having an issue with a spin bike like the Keiser M3i+ that has magnetic resistance system?
I’ve run into an odd issue where as soon as i tighten the UNO onto the Keiser crank arm it stops functioning properly. If I back it off so it’s not cinched up against the arm then the problem goes away. The UNO works fine on my Trek road bike.
I can’t find anyone else who has reported this issue so thought I would ask here…
Appreciate any thoughts you may have concerning this…
Best,
Gary
Hi and thanks for the question.
That’s a first for us on this. This is going to need a much deeper and more technical dive. Please contact Favero directly on this. Their support is very very good and they usually get back to you within a day or two.
