SRAM GX Eagle Transmission Crankset Power Meter Options

SRAM’s Eagle Transmission is built around the Universal Derailleur Hanger which removes the variable that often complicated MTB shift systems. By eliminating a component that can change the effectiveness of a derailleur, SRAM now offers a system that can shift under load and is more precise than ever.

The latest and most affordable version of this is SRAM’s Eagle GX Transmission. Using trickle down technology, this groupset allows riders to upgrade to Transmission without the costs associated with the XO, XX or XX SL Transmission groupsets. While this is a welcome addition to the Transmission product line, the GX Transmission crankset does not currently have a stand-alone single-side power meter option. Although this is the case, there are a variety of SRAM GX Eagle Transmission Crankset power meter options.

 

Crankset Replacement

SRAM XO Eagle AXS Transmission Power Meter Spindle Crankset

For riders looking to use a single-sided power meter, upgrading to the SRAM XO Eagle AXS Transmission Power Meter Spindle Crankset provides both weight savings and power meter upgrade opportunity. This power meter provides +/- 3% accuracy features a 400+ hours of battery life from a lithium AAA battery. For riders already riding SRAM DUB cranksets, this is an easy upgrade that utilizes your existing bottom bracket. Upgrading also means riders move from aluminum to carbon cranks.

 

 

Spider Power Meters

SRAM XX Eagle AXS Transmission Power Meter Spider

 

Although the SRAM XX Eagle AXS Transmission Power Meter Spider was initially designed for the SRAM Eagle Transmission XX SL crankset, the GX Transmission crankset uses the same 8-bolt mounting interface which allows it to be compatible.  This power meter spider is +/- 1.5% accurate with 200 hour rechargeable battery. Using a spider-based power meter provides improved accuracy over a crank-based power meter but does requires the SRAM XX SL Eagle Thread Mount Chainrings.

SRM SRAM 8-Bolt Power Meter

 

For riders looking for a premium spider-based power meter, SRM produces an 8-bolt power meter. SRM pioneered power meters and the SRM SRAM 8-Bolt Power Meter is +/- 1% accurate with a rechargeable 100 hour battery life. This power meter is compatible with 104 BCD T-Type chainrings.

Sigeyi AXO SRAM 8-Bolt Power Meter

 

Sigeyi makes one of the most affordable and accurate power meters available. The Sigeyi AXO SRAM 8-Bolt Power Meter is +/- 1% accurate with a 300 hour rechargeable battery life. Like the SRM SRAM 8-Bolt power meter, the Sigeyi AXO 8-Bolt is compatible 104 BCD T-Type chainrings.

 

MTB Power Meter Pedals

Power meter pedals are a great option as they are compatible with any crankset and are easy to install. For riders looking to avoid swapping cranksets or would like to swap power meters between bikes easily, MTB power meter pedals are the best option.
