My new SRAM Rival Power Meter will not hold a connection. What should I do?

If your new SRAM Rival Power Meter is dropping its connection with your bike computer, it likely is a firmware issue. The following steps will roll-back the firmware and should solve the issue.

Steps:

  • Remove the sled and then remove the battery from the sled
  • While holding the small white sled button down, re-install the battery
  • This will give you a flashing orange light. The unit is now in bootload state
  • Open the SRAM AXS app and connect the power meter while the orange light is flashing
  • Follow the steps showing your new firmware available

This should reset the firmware and allow you to do an initial calibration and zero offsets. The power meter should be useable again.

Good morning, i tried to follow these steps, but the spindle keeps flashing the orange light. The app shows a firmware update 1.3.3, it
completes the update but continues to show as pending in the app.

Hi Rodolfo and thanks for the question. The first thing you can try with the Rival power meter arm is a hard reset. To do this, please remove the battery from the battery sled and let this sit open for a few minutes. This lets residual voltage dissipate from the power meter body. Then replace the AAA battery with a lithium, non-rechargeable battery and try the connection again. If unsuccessful, please contact SRAM directly. Their Quarq Support Team is exceptional and will be able to help: [email protected].

      Thanks,
