The Wheels Mfg PF30 Outboard Bottom Bracket for Shimano uses thread together cups and is available with a variety of bearings. While this bottom bracket is designed for 68 mm road and 73 mm wide MTB shells, it is also compatible with 61 mm Specialized OSBB shells when used with additional spacers. The cups are machined from aluminum and thread together which allows for additional bottom bracket stability. This also helps eliminate bottom bracket creaks and protects your cables and hoses from your spindle. This bottom bracket is designed for 24 mm spindles. It is available with ABEC-3, Angular Contact, Ceramic Hybrid and Zero Ceramic bearings so you can select a balance of durability with performance.

Wheels Manufacturing Bearing Differences

The Wheels Mfg PF30 Outboard bottom bracket is available with four different types of bearings. ABEC-3 is designed as an OEM replacement. This is the best balance of cost and durability. Angular Contact bearings provide better durability and are designed to last longer, but are more expensive. Ceramic Hybrid bearings are made to be faster than ABEC-3 and Angular Contact bearings. They have similar durability which makes them the most expensive option. Zero Ceramic is Wheels Mfg highest quality bearing and has the least amount of drag. They are made to be as fast as possible which also means they have a lower durability rating.
