ALUGEAR Oval 8-Bolt Road/Gravel Chainring for SRAM

The ALUGEAR Oval 8-Bolt Road/Gravel Chainring for SRAM is made for SRAM 8-bolt cranks and 10-, 11- and 12-speed chains. The oval shape of the chainring helps smooth your pedal stroke, increase traction and improve power.

In addition, ALUGEAR chainrings are some of the lightest on the market. They are CNC machined from 7075 T6 aluminum and hard coat industrially anodized to provide maximum protection. They also feature a unique tooth profile that eliminates chain noise, reduces wear and provides for a smooth drivetrain.

1 review for ALUGEAR Oval 8-Bolt Road/Gravel Chainring for SRAM
  1. Eran (verified owner)

I replaced my crank and needed an oval ring to replace my absolute black ring that was not compatible with 10 bolt. I had the previous one for a couple of years and it worked well with my SRAM AXS gravek setup. It’s only been a couple of rides but this one works really well. I saw some reviews that mentioned that there were chain drops. Nothing so far that I can report. The only thing that Absolute Black was better was that it looked nicer.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Eran! We’re glad to hear the new oval ring is working well with your SRAM AXS gravel setup so far. It’s always helpful to get real-world feedback—especially when switching from a trusted component like Absolute Black. Hopefully the performance continues to impress, even if the aesthetics take a slight hit. Let us know how it holds up over time or if there’s anything else we can help with!
