SRAM RED E1 AXS Power Meter Crankset
The SRAM RED E1 AXS Power Meter Crankset is Quarq’s flagship road power meter crankset. Using DZero power measurement technology, this SRAM power meter provides accurate and consistent power readings. In addition, with active temperature compensation, changes in temperature won’t affect your power numbers. It also uses integrated chainrings to save weight and improve shifting performance. The power meter features dual ANT+ and Bluetooth SMART, left and right power balance and comes with a full 2-year warranty.
The RED E1 AXS power meter crankset features SRAM’s latest carbon crank arms. Thanks to a new and optimized carbon layup, these are SRAM’s lightest road cranks ever. The continued use of a DUB spindle means they are compatible with a wide range of frames and bottom brackets. Additionally, SRAM has added new crank lengths, including as short as 150 mm.
Please note that SRAM offers their 52/39T, 54/41T, and 56/43T Red E1 Power Meter Spider in black only. They offer the 46/33T, 48/35T, 50/37T and in silver/black (pictured) only.

Advice From Our Staff
This is SRAM’s premier 2x road power meter crankset. It is 29 grams lighter than the previous generation and is available in more crank lengths. We also like that the power meter measures power from both legs and provides left vs. right power balance. While the RED chainrings are made to last 50% longer than SRAM’s 11-speed chainrings, please note that the chainrings cannot be replaced when worn, since the rings and power meter are one piece. Most customers can get many years of life out of the power meter before it needs to be replaced and SRAM offers a 50% off replacement when needed.
Options For This Power Meter

I haven’t installed this yet so won’t review the product but will write that ordering this from Power Meter City was a great experience. There was only 1 in stock (and none anywhere else) so was nervous my order would be fulfilled. Their support agent confirmed the order in the system and that it would ship later that day when the team arrived. It did ship out that day and arrived quickly. Great communication and support. 10/10 will buy from Power Meter City again.

I am a big fan of SRAM Red AXS eTap in the first place, which came with my S-Works Roubaix in 2020 (before they change all the models of Roubaix). I wanted to change out the chainrings to a larger size as well as crank size. Because no one really looks into crank length before buying (unless it is a custom made bike), everyone gets 172.5, unless it’s a woman’s bike. Check into what crank length you really need. Also, the same goes for chainring sizes. I wish I would have had the 48/35 in the first place, but so be it. With the matched cassette, SRAM did a good job on their picks, and the same goes for the 48/35. At 48/10 and cadence of 110, you’ll be going around 35-38 mph, suitable for most situations. If I wasn’t living in an area where I get grades >10%, I might have chosen the 50/37, especially f I was competing in flats, rollers, or time trials. Taking the old one out and putting the new one in was as simple as it gets, and only a slight height adjustment in the front derailleur was needed. I had previously changed out all bearings and rear pulleys to Ceramic Speed, but not sure it was worth it, although I do like them.
