KMC DLC 12-Speed Chain
The KMC DLC 12-Speed Chain features a Diamond Like Coating (DLC) made of titanium, carbon and nitride. This results in an extremely hard surface and makes the chain very durable. It also reduces friction in the drivetrain which means more power to the wheels! In addition to being more durable and effecient, this chain is made to be lightweight and weighs only 238 grams. It works with SRAM Eagle, SRAM Eagle AXS, Shimano and Campagnolo 12-speed chains and is designed for road, MTB, gravel and cyclocross. (Not Compatible with SRAM eTAP and Flattop.)

Nice chain but does not worth well with Shimano Dura-Ace 9300. The shift quality deteriorated and struggled to shift around gears 8 and 9. The drive train had about 200 miles on it. I also wax my chains. Measured the chain width compared to the stock 9300 chain and it was about .2-.3mm wider than the stock shimano chain. Made many attempts to adjust but couldn’t seem to get it right. Ended up going back to the stock Shimano chain and the shift quality returned to normal. I’ll save the chain for one of my SRAM bikes and hopefully that works better. SRAM seems to be more forgiving when mixing non-SRAM components.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear the chain did not perform as expected with your Dura Ace setup, especially after multiple adjustment attempts. Compatibility can sometimes vary depending on drivetrain combinations and tolerances, particularly with high performance systems like Shimano 12 speed.
We appreciate you sharing your measurements and experience, as this can be very helpful for other riders considering similar setups. Hopefully the chain performs much better on your SRAM bike. If you ever have questions about compatibility or setup, our team is always happy to help! Ride safe!
