The Zipp 303 SW Disc Brake Wheelset builds on Zipp’s proven all road platform with greater durability, wider tire support and integrated tire pressure monitoring. It uses a 40 mm deep hookless carbon rim with a 25 mm internal width. As a result, the shape works perfectly with modern tubeless tires and lower pressures. Zipp optimized the wheelset for 30-35 mm tires, though it also supports widths up to 44 mm for mixed terrain riding.

In addition, Zipp updated the carbon layup to increase impact strength by nearly 10 percent. Even with the added strength, the wheelset weighs just 1440 grams. Meanwhile, the revised rim shape smooths airflow between the tire and rim to reduce drag with wider tires. Reinforced rim shaping also helps prevent pinch flats during hard impacts.

The integrated Zipp AXS Wheel Sensor gives riders real time tire pressure data without external sensors. Riders can check pressure through the SRAM AXS app or compatible head units. Furthermore, the system uses lights for pressure alerts directly from the wheel. Finally, Zipp equips the 303 SW with updated ZR1 hubs that use stainless steel bearings and 66 points of engagement for quick response and long term durability.

Compatibility

Minimum Tire Width

These wheels are hookless and have a minimum tire width of 28 mm. They have a maximum tire pressure of 73 PSI.

Considerations

The 303 SW targets modern road bikes and therefore works only with disc brakes. Riders must also use tires approved by Zipp for proper compatibility and performance. While this wheelset is not the most expensive, it still carries a premium price.
