The Gemini Wassat MTB Handlebar is the world’s lightest XC mountain bike handlebar. The Wassat delivers stiffness without fatigue in an incredibly lightweight form. The craftsmanship in the Gemini Barcelona workshop keeps the weight to an astonishing 102 grams. Gemini achieves this without sacrificing ride quality by using ‘GMN’ ovalized sections on either side of the bar clamp. These sections absorb vertical vibrations while maintaining precise steering reactivity. In addition, the Wassat is available in a ‘Performance Layup’ which increases the overall strength and stiffness when compared to the ‘Lightweight Layup’. This version also bumps up the weight by 28 grams.

Considerations

Gemini describes the Wassat as a ‘100% optimized piece’ which means the Lightweight Layup comes with a maximum rider weight 198lbs. If a higher weight limit is needed, that’s where the ‘Performance Layup’ comes in. Unsurprisingly, being a premium handcrafted product is also reflected in the price point.
