What power meter will fit my Cane Creek eeWings Road cranks?

When it comes to Cane Creek eeWings road cranks, the power meter options depend on what version you have. There is an older, 3-bolt design of Cane Creek eeWings and a newer, 8-Bolt version. The good news is there are options for both!

Cane Creek eeWings 8-bolt

The Cane Creek eeWings 8-bolt design is the latest iteration from Cane Creek, and applies to Road, Gravel and MTB. With this version of crankset, the chainring attaches directly via an 8-bolt system borrowed from SRAM. This means most SRAM 8-bolt power meter spiders are compatible with Cane Creek eeWings 8-bolt cranksets. Below are some (but not all!) great spider-based options for your eeWings 8-bolt crankset:

Sigeyi AXO SRAM 8-Bolt Road/Gravel Power Meter

Sigeyi have recently upgraded their spider-based power meters to the AXO SL. This new version brings an astonishingly low weight, increased stiffness and a new pedal smoothness feature. We are big fans of Sigeyi here at Power Meter City and have found them to be reliable and easy to use. If you have the 8-bolt road/gravel version of the Cane Creek eeWings this power meter would be a top option.

Pros: Moderately priced, VERY reliable, don’t have to change crankset, measures both legs and is incredibly lightweight
Cons: None

SRAM Force E1 AXS Power Meter Spider

Since the new eeWings 8-bolt cranksets use the same mounting interface as SRAM, that means you can choose from several SRAM power meters. This particular SRAM Force E1 AXS Power Meter Spider uses SRAM thread mount chainrings for a stiff setup with a sleek, clean aesthetic. There is also a growing number of third-party thread mount chainrings available from brands like ALUGEAR and Garbaruk. In addition, SRAM offer the SRAM RED E1 AXS Power Meter Spider and SRAM RED E1 1x AXS Aero Power Meter Spider which are compatible with Cane Creek 8-bolt road/gravel cranksets.

XCADEY XPOWER-S GEN2 SRAM 8-Bolt Road/Gravel Power Meter

The XCADEY XPOWER-S GEN2 is a great value power meter with a strong feature set. It is very accurate and lightweight while being relatively inexpensive when compared to other power meter options. For an easy way to upgrade your training data while running a Cane Creek crankset, this would be a solid option.

Pros: Relatively inexpensive, accurate to 1.0%, don’t have to change crankset, measures both legs and is lightweight
Cons: Shorter battery life, manual zero calibration

Cane Creek eeWings 3-bolt

The Cane Creek eeWings 3-bolt design is the more common setup from Cane Creek, and applies to older generation Road, Gravel and MTB eeWings cranksets. With this version of crankset, the chainring attaches directly via a semi-proprietary 3-bolt interface. This does reduce options somewhat, but there are still some options to add power meter training data.

power2max NGeco Cane Creek Road Power Meter

The power2max NGeco Cane Creek Road Power Meter is our go to power meter for Cane Creek eeWings 3-bolt cranksets. power2max makes wonderful units – we use them on many of our own bikes. They are accurate, extremely durable, measure the power from both legs, are reasonably priced and allow you to keep your current eeWings crankset.

Sigeyi makes a very similar spider-based power meter for Cane Creek 3-bolt cranksets as well. It also measures power from both legs, installs quickly and is a great power meter. However, we note that the Sigeyi AXO Cane Creek eeWings Power Meter is a bit more affordable than the power2max.

This includes both single- and dual-sided versions as well as pedals for SPD-SL, LOOK Keo and Speedplay cleats.

Cons: None
