Stages Shimano GRX RX810 Power Meter

This has nothing to do with Power Meter City. However, a prior acknowledgment that Stages Customer Support is non-existent would have been nice. So here’s the story.

I’ve been trying to reach Stages support for over a month regarding my crank arm, and they refuse to respond. I’m pretty sure I’ll never hear from them based on what I saw on their Facebook page. Some people have support tickets open for almost a year now with no response.

I recently competed in a Century Ride, and while riding, my arm disconnected from my Wahoo and would not reconnect. I wasn’t all that surprised, as I had forgotten to replace that battery the night before. It rained for almost the entire ride, so things got messy. The following day, while inspecting my bike and prepping it to be cleaned, I went to swap it out for a new battery. I tried everything to get it to reconnect, including the reset method. But nothing is working. Also, to be clear, this was the very first time opening the battery enclosure. After further googling, someone on Reddit mentioned inspecting the O-ring to ensure it wasn’t damaged or getting in the way. The weird part is that I don’t recall ever seeing an O-ring. So I returned to the bike, and to my surprise, there was no o-ring inside. I hadn’t moved the bike, so I searched the area, but there was nothing to find.

So here’s my concern. Without the O-Ring and given all the rain and flooding during the Century Ride, my concern is the crank arm suffered water damage and is now no longer functional. Stages support has ignored my support ticket for over 4 weeks, and I’m so frustrated with this whole process. I’m ready to throw it out.

Up until it stopped working, it was great. But I’ll never buy from this brand again.

This is my second Stages power meter – both LH cranks. Simple and easy to set up and fit, with an accurate enough (although left biased) output for 95% of people. Minimal fuss and maximal effort.
Batteries (CR2032) last about 3 months and are a simple exchange taking seconds. integrated with my Garmin, you get about an hour or so warning of critical battery life once it goes – plenty.
As for Power Meter City – i have bought direct from Stages and from them. Stock levels good and exactly what i wanted. Seamless and delivered in a few days. Happy rider.

First of all I want to say that power meter city has the best chat help, within min all my questions were answered and I was quickly on my way to deciding which product I should go with. Lucky I chose stages GRX 810 and so far is great easy to setup and exactly what the description called for. My product was shipped the same day and it was delivered sooner than expected. I received my power meter in just a few days after submitting my order. Everything came packaged professionally. Installation was extremely easy as was configuring the power meter itself. Already took it on a few rides and love getting the feedback on my performance.

This is my second Stages left side. I have an Ultegra left side on my road bike. The GRX version works just as well. I get similar power readings from either bike on known segments which is what I was after. Both connect seamlessly with my Wahoos and with Zwift. Power Meter City will keep getting my business.
