ROTOR INpower DM MTB Power Meter

The ROTOR INpower DM MTB Power Meter measures left leg power using two sets of opposing strain gauges in the axle. The strain gauges are able to measure power, cadence, torque effectiveness and pedal smoothness. Specifically designed for off road use, all of the electronics are located inside the water-proof, sealed axle. This makes the INpower DM MTB super durable and able to withstand the muddiest, harshest conditions.

However unlike the previous generation power meter, the new INpower DM MTB uses ROTOR’s Direct Mount Chainrings. The Direct Mount rings are machined from a solid block of 7075 aluminum which makes them lighter and stronger than the standard 2x chainring configuration. The ROTOR INpower DM MTB has ANT+ and Bluetooth SMART functionality, is powered by a AA battery with 300-hour battery life and features +/- 1.5% accuracy.

The ROTOR INpower DM MTB features ROTOR’s 30 mm UBB (Universal Bottom Bracket) design. This makes the power meter compatible with almost all standard frames when used with the correct spacers. In addition, when used with a Q-Ring, ROTOR’s OCP (Optimum Chainring Position) technology allows you to identify your OCP in order to fine-tune your Q-Rings for optimized pedaling performance and efficiency.

Advice From Our Staff:

The advantages to this power meter are it’s relatively affordable (as far as ROTOR power meters go), the aluminum crank arms are light and stiff and it’s easy to run oval rings. The drawback is that it only measures left leg power, whereas most power meter cranksets measure power from both legs.

Other Versions to Consider

2INpower Version: While the INpower you are viewing on this page measures power from just the left leg, we also have the ROTOR 2INpower MTB Crankset Power Meter. This is a more expensive version however it measures power from both legs.

Compatibility

Chainrings: The ROTOR INpower MTB is compatible with ROTOR Direct Mount MTB chainrings, which can be purchased on this page along with the power meter.

Bottom Bracket: This power meter fits 30 MM bottom brackets. If you currently have a 30 MM crankset on your bike, you should be able to re-use your existing bottom bracket. However, if you are changing spindle sizes, you will need to replace your bottom bracket.
